Our Centre

Our centre is situated down a quite cul-de-sac, next to a large park. We are central to the motorway from both the Mt Wellington and Ellerslie exits, along the main drag from Pakuranga to the city, and just down the road from Sylvia Park.

Parking is right outside, and the centre is very private and safe, with tall wooden tree lined fences surrounding it. Entry is via a code access only entry door and intercom system; with parents given personal access code, putting your mind at ease all visitors’ presence at the centre is known.

We have two wonderful licensed centres based at the same site - Centre 1 is our Infant and Toddler Centre and caters for children from a few months to 2½ years. Centre 2 is our Preschool and caters for children from 2½ years to the time they go to school.

Baby Area
As your child's first experience at childcare, we believe it is important our baby room is a place where children feel safe, loved and is like a home away from home. For parents it should provide a warm, visually stimulating and calm environment for when your child is away from you.
As you enter our baby play room, you will notice many activities that fulfil young children's emotional needs and curiosities. You might find our Educators sitting on the ground, one child on their lap, observing another close by experimenting with different sized objects. Or one child looking at a book, while another rocks happily in the swing. Even at this young age, the children have a range of activities and toys from which to select including heuristic play.
A separate sleep room with a viewing window is positioned next door, where an Educator is always present to greet and comfort children as they awake or go to sleep. Our knowledgeable Educators portray a passionate but gentle and respectful style towards the children. They work at the children's level and openly communicate each day with the parents about what been happening.
Toddler Area
As our infants gain their confidence and “walking feet”, they transition to the Toddler Area. Our unique Toddler Area is made up of different spaces including an outdoor area, external atrium, activity room and playroom. Children are able to move freely throughout these areas as desired. The playroom offers a stimulating environment with a range of activities such as blocks, books, puzzles and cosy areas.

As you move into the activity room, you will notice frequent change where different activities are provided on a weekly basis depending on children’s interest, and reflecting the various curriculum areas. For example one day a science table with insects may be available, other days the room could be furniture free awaiting a dance and drama session. Aligned to the toddler space, is a special glass framed internal atrium. This space is a favourite among all, with its sun drenched deck enabling room to ride bikes, read books or just hang out.

Toddlers join a preschool transition programme shortly before they turn two, where they gain new skills and have a few visits to the Preschool Area, to ensure they transition smoothly.
Preschool Area

Our larger than life Preschool includes a spacious playroom divided into separate areas, including blocks, books, music, dramatic play, literacy and maths to name a few.

A wooden dividing wall opens into a spacious art area, dining and transition areas. Children are able to flow freely from indoors to the outdoor area via a covered deck depending on where their interests take them.

Our magnificent tree lined outdoor area features a two tier sandpit, large wooden hut, large carpentry area, movable climbing structures and a wide open space for bikes, running and games.

Our educators move from area to area providing supervision, support and conversation, getting down to the children's level inquiring about their activities and choices. Individual programmes provide additional spontaneous activities for all to join, based on current interests. Past interests have included growing a vegetable garden, superheros, dinosaurs and space.

In addition to our free play philosophy, we also provide pre-programmed activities such as cooking, movement and music, drama, science and pre literacy. For our older children a Transition to School Programme is provided, with a special area for these older children to practice writing, play word and maths games on the computer and have quiet extension activities away from the younger children.

Internal Atrium

Aligned to the toddler space, is a special glass framed internal atrium. This space is a favourite among all, with its sun drenched deck enabling room to ride bikes, read books or just hang out.
